I love Entrecard, it has brought me both good and bad traffic. Definitely more good than bad. I think it is the best way to bring a blog back from the dead or launch a new one. Reading other blogs also gives me ideas for my own posts and in some ways it gives me a swift kick in the rear to start working on my own content.
About a week and a half ago I launched One Million Pet Pics and I’ve been trying to drop 300 cards for this blog and that one every day; I was successful up until yesterday when I realized that everything else was being neglected. I would like to continue dropping 300 cards a day, but until I come up with a strategy for days when I have other necessary things on my plate, I’m going to have to start with 100 for each blog in the AM and then if I have time in the evening I’ll finish up.
It’s seems that I almost always have the same cards in my Inbox every morning so what I’m going to start doing is making some bookmark folders for those blogs that I find there and start speed dropping when I don’t have time to go through the chain dropping routine. If you’re wondering, I don’t stop and read everything when I’m chain dropping, but I definitely pay attention, comment and make note of things when I chain drop. I would like to continue chain dropping the way I have been at least twice a week. This way I can discover new sites and pay attention to what’s going on around the web.
I don’t want to become a credit hog that pays no attention to what everyone else is saying.

First thing in the morning I start dropping on all that is in my inbox. Then if I have free time in the evening I will drop more. On the weekends I like to check out other sites that I don’t get to during the week.
I just LOVE entrecard.

I too am a chain dropper but I also make it a point to give at least 10 comments a day on things I find interesting. Of course, some days, I comment a lot more. I also drop cards on folks that comment to me as well. I stumbled upon a new site today while I was chain dropping and thought I would share it with you. I haven’t tried it yet cuz I am not at home, I am working from a friends house right now. Anyway the site is http://www.neoco.org
They say that you can drop 300 cards in 25 minutes. For chain droppers that is good but it doesn’t load everything on the page at once, so be sure you save a few before you get to 300 so that you can surf some sites too. Good luck and let me know if this helps.

Just passing to do a drop when I saw your article. I have now backed off and only drop on those I know drop on me, and those who dropped for the day.
I have only tried it for 2 days now and so far my return drops are equal to my drops.
Now I have more time for blogging rather than mindless dropping on people who never bother to drop back.
I will take a drop in ranking in the next week or so but I am comfortable with that. I think the middle of the road will suit me just fine.

Yup, definitely beware of mindless chain-dropping. It’s no fun at all. I mean so what if your EC ad is only worth 40? As long as you get people dropping by and commenting, that should be good enough.

I’m extremely glad people are starting to notice more (the chain droppers)… that’s one reason why I basically stopped using them because I didn’t like the fact that my bounce rate was soaring high.
But I do hope you start taking time to becoming a quality visitor to peoples sites, because I’m sure when you do, people will do the same back… just like the chain dropping…
