The biggest problem that I have with Q since he has started gambling is the lying. Of all of the things that have been damaged in our marriage, it has been trust. I can’t trust Q with a check made out to the doctor because he has made the check payable to himself in the past. I can’t trust him with more than $20 in cash because he might blow it; I can’t even leave my games out in my office because he might take some and sell them for cash to go to the casino.
This particular time he was working on a job and got paid, but he continued to tell me that he had more work to do on the job because he didn’t want to tell me that he took the money and pissed it all away. The story telling went on for two weeks before he came clean yesterday morning. He had started to gain some of my trust back recently, with $50 and one story he has stuffed all of that back down the drain.
Maybe that’s where it belongs.
