I found this article about problem gamblers at toomanybets.com. It’s a short little page that may help you decide what type of gambler your loved one may be. There are some other helpful articles there also.
I would have to say that Q is the Escape Problem Gambler. I’m sure what may have triggered the gambling was buying the house and then losing his job made everything snowball. He went to the casino to escape the problems that had come in front of him instead of facing the problems head on and making an effort to solve them. Of course, at that point in time I thought it was a phase that he would get through once the money was gone. Don’t fall into that trap, they’ll find the money where ever they can. That’s a different day.
