If you earn some of your online income from the eBay affiliate program, make sure you start to update your links now. For the whole month of April, eBay is offering a 5% bonus on top of regular earnings for sales made through the new Partner Network. I use a ton of eBay affiliate RSS feeds on my Squidoo pages so this will be a major undertaking for me.

My first take on the eBay Partner Network is pretty good, they do force you to enter a website upon registration, but if you self host your own blog I would enter that URL, even if you don’t use affiliate links on that blog. I have to admit that I was a little worried when they said I needed to be approved, but my approval was emailed to me within a couple of minutes.

When I was using the CJ eBay affiliate links, it was always a pain to see which Squidoo lenses were making my sales. This was my fault for not setting up a new website ID for each lens. I’ll be correcting this by creating a new campaign for each lens. Since I have to go through and update each feed, I might as well fix this to track my sales better.

Have you started using the eBay Partner Network? Let us know what you think.

It’s great that ebay seem to have made this so easy to use for all!
Also, it’s worth mentioning you don’t need to set up anew campaign for each lens or link, the custom id field is ideal for this. This way say have one campaign for squidoo (or whichever site) and give custom id’s for each lens and/or link type. For example - a custom id can be split up like this - “rs-1″ meaning that it’s a link from my rally sport lens and is the first link. or even rs-acc-1 the first link on accessories.
It’s also worth noting in regard to RSS feeds that you MUST add a custom-id when setting the feed up or the feed generated will be invalid. This may change in the future but it is the situation currently.

Great points Roo. I will keep the custom ID point in mind when changing my RSS feeds.
